Founded in 1662, Built 1692/1694 this Chapel is the first Non-Conformist Chapel in Chesterfield. If ever you wanted to have a Wedding that was full of nostalgia and beauty, whether it be intimate or large then Elder Yard Chapel is the place for you. Who would have thought that such a wonderful piece of history is sited here in the middle of this town for all to share? This beautiful Chapel has been the hosts for many weddings in its time, it is peaceful, serene, and very welcoming. Those at the Chapel who look after the Weddings will ensure that your Wedding Day is very special for you as a couple, they will also be on hand to help with the arrival of your guests. The capacity is maximum 80 guests. The Chapel has an Authorised Person who can fulfil the legal requirements of the Registrar at the Chapel on the day of the marriage. We have a wonderful Organist who is happy to discuss with you any ideas you may have with regards to the music you would like on the day. We are also registered to conduct same-sex Weddings. We warmly welcome LGBT couples to be married at Elder Yard Chapel. Weddings are such a beautiful and personal day for everyone and this wonderful Chapel sitting in its own grounds in the middle of Chesterfield creates the private and personal atmosphere that anyone could wish for. Please note that intending couples wishing to get married at Elder Yard Chapel must give notice to the Chesterfield Register Office. Giving notice means making a declaration that you are both free to marry and fulfil other requirements prescribed by law. You must ensure that you have given notice to the Register Office at least 28 days before the date of your Wedding. Notice can also be given a year in advance.
